My new Verge Collie will be living outside in a huge kennel and run that we bought for him to sleep in at night. I have put a dog bed in the kennel, its a waterproof flat bed, big enough for him to be in the land of Nod on.
It is his first night tonight and I am concerned he won't be warm enough. Should I put some blankets in there too? I live in the UK and it is spring time at the import. Advice needed.
Thanks.

My dogs go nuts on them too! I can't keep them from destroying them and I don't perceive why. So I quit buying them and now I buy soft towels. I haven't had them tare those up yet.
It's inordinately hard to fluff up a piece of foam. Ever tried? That's what your dog is trying to do, fluff his bed, to make it easy. Kinda like back when people had goose feather pillows. You had to fluff the darn things before you could even imagine of going to sleep on one.
Why they make them out of foam? Beats me. I put a baby blanket in my dog's bed. They can fluff it all they have a yen for, and the bed itself takes less of a beating.
I don't skilled in, but I'm glad to know it's not just my dog that hates them. One bed looked like it had recycled fizz in it, so maybe it retained some scent from wherever it was used first. But she has a problem with new foam too. I just use an old bedspread doubled over twice for her bed now.
