I be acquainted with they don't bark, but do they yodel and make other sounds all the time? Will they keep me up at night?
Also, are they very acitve and hyper all the period? Or will they be ok indoors if they get a daily walk and plenty of play?

I raised and bred Basenji's for 25 years and I can bear witness that they can and do make noise. The "yodel " can be soft or loud and irritating, particularly if you are distressing to sleep. A female coming into season can literally drive the male to screaming( if you keep both sexes in the parliament during the "heat").

I have two. :) One from a show breeder in Indiana, and a female from Basenji Set free who came from a puppymill that got shut down.
They're certainly not the dog for everyone....people think "Superlative! No barking! No odor! No shedding!" Then, they mistakenly leave an adolescent Basenji loose in the domicile for 2 hours, and come home to find the couch entirely picked clean of fabric, foam and stuffing. And a very satisfied Basenji sleeping in the mean...
