are there any canaan dogs in or approaching ohio for sale???(oh and not that much either!lol) I am very interested in the breed but i guess it is a rare breed and no matter where i look i can not find this rear anywhere in or near ohio.can you all help me out??.....oh and by the way i live in toledo if thats any help....but anywhere in or almost ohio is fine...thanks guys!!

A: It is a commonplace guard dog as well as an excellent watchdog that tends to bark a lot. May be aggressive with dogs of the same sex. The Canaan Dog tends to be a one person dog or one family dog. They are very defensive of their land. He should be well socialized when young with both dogs and people, especially with children, as the breed tends to be naturally wary of strangers, though he is very kindly with those he knows.

A: They are cute easily trainable, but like with any dog, training starts right away. They quicker they know the rules, the more fervid they will be to please! Now these are spitz-type dogs and normally have pretty high energy levels. I wouldnt reccomend them for apartment living, but if you have a fenced in back yard, you should be ok. It unusually depends on your living habits to determine if this is the right dog for you.

The puppy was dragging its hind legs. Lakeberg stopped and discovered that the pup's legs were so damaged that she needed to find a veterinarian to treat the pooch. That was no small task in a country where people often don't keep dogs as pets and many of the veterinarians are more geared to treat sheep, goats, donkeys and camels. Lakeberg finally managed to find a veterinarian who fixed the dog's leg.
