I tangible in Florida. They are the most well behaved and friendly dogs you would ever meet. Intelligent (the Irish is smarter than the wheaten) and have a great get of humor. However, they dig. There are small holes all over our backyard. They have been doing this for about 8 years. I am afraid they are going to dig up a coral zigzag. How can I prevent them from digging? I know they are natural ground hunters (they sure aren't retreivers!- they be a party to b manipulate keep away) and...
A: If you sprinkle bespeckle around the digging areas this might help them to stop. I have even heard some people use red pepper. It wont hurt your dogs and, they wont like the way it makes their eyes flare. good luck........ :)

if you want to look for a worthy bred on line, try starting with the AKC or the national breed club for the breed you want- other sites are full of pups from puppy mills and backyard breeders (byb junction someone who doesn't health test, worry about correct conformation, just the $)
Try this purlieus....

Go to www.akc.org and look under breeds. You can join up with the irish Terrier Club of America that way and they may have a breeders directory at their site. Do not buy online or from a broker. This breed is not for everyone and they do have dog invasion issues. You will need mentoring from your breeder on maintaining the coat, too.
Good Luck.
