Please in your local kennel club, they can put you in touch with a reputable breeder. Terrier's are high energy dogs, presumably not good for an apartment. Sounds like you need to do some research on these dogs. They are fairly large dogs. Please do not buy a dog from a back yard breeder or a pet stockpile, they usually are puppy mill dogs. With them come a lot of health issues because of poor breeding. Also, they are costly maintenance dogs as far as grooming is concerned.

I was watching a dog show, and I heard some spectators talking about kerry blues. They said that kerrys are absolutely not a great dog for most people, especially first time dog owners. They are terriers, and shouldn't be taken lightly.

However, if you do your research and imagine that you will be perfect for the dog, go ahead and get one. Almost all dogs will do fine in an apartment as long as they are exercised properly, and given a lot of bananas stimulation.

Go with breeds that are ethical for apartments not with how big the dog is. Size has nothing to do with it. Terriers are usually very hyper...not a dog I would want in an apartment.

You can have a mastiff in a 1 bedroom apartment as extensive as you're willing to get up, get out, and exercise your dog. Terriers are high energy dogs so be prepared, and invest in a crate. You can learn how to crate caravan dogs right here on YA! Answers just use search. Good luck!

I would look more at the energy sincere of the dog than its size. Many large breed dogs actually make pretty good apartment dogs because they don't need tons of exercise, while little ones like parson's russells (jack russells) do not due to their high-priced energy. You need to do some research on which breed(s) would work for your life style and go from there. Remember to check at specific shelters, they often have pure bred dogs and always have adorable mixes. Good Luck!
