I live in British Columbia and am fostering a 3 year old purebred Komondor, I need to find him a home?

Q: His name is Kooch and he is very commendable, great with children and with our female dog, he is not neutered. He needs a home with lots of property and maybe some livestock, as he will convulsion when he has a job. Very loyal and loving. He truly is a good dog, but still needs a bit of obedience training and maybe socializing with other virile dogs.

A: Get hold of the Komondor Club of America and if there is one in Canada that one too. Also on yahoo here there is a komondor group (komondor@yahoogroups.com) fasten that and post, there are many helpful people on there. It might be worth it also to ask your local shelters to post the dog on petfinder.com and have them do a screening or adoption condense to help find the dog a new home. Even though they're in the US, it might be a tolerable idea to contact the Komondor Club of America Rescue. They might know someone in your area that's looking for a Kom, or they could put him on their "at" list, or they might have other resources to help you.

I'm looking for a principled dog groomer who has experience on grooming Komondors,any suggestions?


A: I white-hot in vancouver. I take my german shepherd to absolute k9. Here is their website http://www.absolutek9.ca/. I think they do a fine job with my dog. Its on kingsway. For bathing, nails, ears, etc set someone back me like around 30-45 can't remember. It comes in packages, or you can pick. EG just bathing.

I have a full blood registered Komondor. She is 6 yrs. old and I dire to find her a good home. She is a country dog, not a show dog therefore, she is in need of a bath and haircut as her favorite place to be is swimming in the ponds. She is an notable guard dog but Komondors do not do well with children unless raised with them from a pup. If anyone knows of someone who could take her, I need someone ASAP as my husbands haleness requires us to be out of state for treatment.

She will put out an notify and you should be flooded with emails from 'qualified' komondor people. They are not a dog for just anyone.
When I listed a dog ( with combativeness toward children problems) with my breed rescue, a qualified couple drove over $1500 miles to pick him up, that very week.

Feb. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Sadie, a champion Scottish terrier, won the Westminster Kennel Club dog show in Manhattan last night after impressing judges with her poise and movement before a cheering crowd.

“A dog of this quality comes along once in a decade,” said Elliott Weiss, the Westminster judge who picked Sadie from seven finalists. “She’s pleasing to the eye from every angle, moving and standing.”

The ebony four-year-old electrified the audience at Madison Square Garden as she traipsed the hall’s green carpet. A favorite in a contest that often rewards longshots, she was the first top-ranked purebred to win since a Bichon Frise, JR, took the title in 2001. Rankings are assigned by the American Kennel Club , or AKC, which holds shows nationwide, and grades dogs based on the number of wins. Sadie has had 112 career wins.
