I saw a schippeke dog in a pet research and thought he was the greatest dog ever. ($800)I read up a bit but would like to hear from personal anecdotes about this breed and habits ect. specially housetraining problems and what to do and how. i heard they can be stubborn
I would like to get a good deal on one. maybe already trained.
A: Schipperkes are quirky unimportant dogs that can be difficult to train. They were used as watch dogs, so they tend to bark a lot. The biggest difficulty they have is running away if they get loose. Generally, they're friendly with their family, but are a bit independent. If you get a male, have him neutered primitive - they're also big on mounting your leg and peeing in the house to mark their territory. They need a little weekly brushing and a ordinary thirty minute walk.

Their collective remarks on temperament :
The Schipperke is interested, interested in everything around him, and is an excellent and faithful little watchdog. He is reserved with strangers and ready to protect his kinfolk and property if necessary. He displays a confident and independent personality, reflecting the breed's master purpose...
In my endure they tend to be very protective of their territory and of anyone/thing they feel belongs to them. Every Schipperke i've met has wanted to be the boss when with other dogs, some to the objective of aggression, others just want to be the leader. They are smart dogs but also stubborn and not easy to train. They can be unbelievably affectionate but bond strongly to their main carer and are quite aloof/wary of strangers. They serve to be energetic little guys and get bored quite...
hispid parana
The ones I've seen are ornery and implacable to get along with, hard headed, and don't work and play well with others.
Nothing really wrong with them, they are what they are, but they are not a great choice if you hanker after them to get along with other people and dogs.
