I have tried looking on the internet for bloodhounds for cost and can't find anything. Is there anything like that? I have lost my dog and have tried everything in the world to find him. My son gave me the idea and I thought it was worth a snapshot.

I take it that all breeds should be part of tha family and not left outdoors for the most part. Also, they are a scent hound and do have a tendency to follow their nose.
get ahold of some Bloodhound people..they can be extremely hard to live with...can be a dominant breed..definitely follow their nose... not a breed for everyone

Scent hounds can be arduous and bloodhounds in particular tend to have a very strong drive.
They require a great deal of structured exercise (improvise a minimum of 3-5 miles a day). Running around outside, while it may help somewhat with energy levels does not de facto qualify as "exercise".
