I take it that all breeds should be part of tha family and not left outdoors for the most part. Also, they are a scent hound and do have a tendency to follow their nose.

get ahold of some Bloodhound people..they can be extremely hard to live with...can be a dominant breed..definitely follow their nose... not a breed for everyone


I opinion love them...my grandfather trained man-trailers and they also happen to be my high school mascot

I acquiesce in with Alambre. Definitely contact some Bloodhound people and talk with them about living with their dogs.
Scent hounds can be arduous and bloodhounds in particular tend to have a very strong drive.

They require a great deal of structured exercise (improvise a minimum of 3-5 miles a day). Running around outside, while it may help somewhat with energy levels does not de facto qualify as "exercise".
