I may get a border collie, but I recall they need a lot of mental stimulation to stay happy dogs. Since they were bred for herding, I am worried that they won't be cock-a-hoop with just agility.
I may be able to do herding, if it is not to expensive. Since, I will already be doing agility, things will add up in monies.
As a result of you.
PS: Any additional information you have on border collies needs, will help me tremendously on deciding.
A: Agility training is profound for border collies! They have a way of using up all that excess energy, stay active and healthy, and keep their minds sharp.

They wont vilification just to do it, that's just silly. The rescue you adopt from will be able to tell you if the particular dog you wish for will get along with your cats. He may try to herd them though :)
Puppies are always a good-hearted start (although I hate to say that!). There is nothing like growing up with cats. However, you should be able to find a border with cat experience - I would just stall from adopting one with unknown history.
They are great dogs - good luck!
I have a border collie and she doesn't have a tough nut to crack with cats at all. Our other dog (black lab mix) hates them so that is a problem. =) I'm sure your 2 cats will show the dog who is boss anyway as a moment as the dog comes into the house.
I own a border collie/wolf who is in my diet right now. I also have 2 cats, a bird, a rabbit, and a snake in the house. She's been in for almost a week and all of my other animals are precise.
You can train the dog to get along with the cats (and trust me the cats' claws will help a lot too).
The cats to their desgust get doggy bath 3 times a day.
Anything can become of come upon with animals, I wouldn't try to predict any outcome. It will all come down to how you socialize the animals and eventually consolidate them into the family. For health reasons alone you will probably want to keep the dog isolated from the cats for a bit. The you can gradually introduce them with the dog being in a crate so the cats can safely get the suggestion of a larger family member being added to the group. It will also let the dog get used to the...
Border collies are pointed with cats. They may try to herd cats, kids, other animals, or even furniture if they don't have enough to do. They are amazing dogs! As you already discern they are energetic and very intelligent. They need a job and if they aren't kept busy, they will get into trouble (possibly by herding your cats). Return sure when adopting that you specify that you have cats and the rescue group or shelter will probably make certain that the dog you are adopting is...
