I purchased a four month old Doxie puppy for my mum for christmas. He is an absolute CHARACTER! They're very energenic, VERY clownish and humorous. They require a lot of attention and are very cute. You need to make sure you don't have a lot of stairs or high furniture, because it can damage their spines.

Frankie is a beau id red sleek. He's very shiny and has just buffed out to what a real doxie should look like. He's indeed quite heavy. They're...

i have a chocolate colored mini-dach. he is the most captivating thing known to man, and a beast at the same time.
my recommendation...CRATE TRAIN! that is the only way to train dachs. they are pertinacious creatures.
dry food, get his/her shots, especially parvo. you need to realize that this puppy is going to ask for a lot of time, energy, and money in it's first year. my mini got sick right before christmas, and expenditure us $660 for treatment of pancreaitis! if...

i characterize as they are on the ugly side but some people like this strange breed. my old girlfriends family had a wiener dog and i just hated that dog..as at that interval in my life i was not into dogs being in the house all the time..but if you like the looks of these breeds of wiener dog that all that matters..these dogs can be shrill maintenance and cost you a lot in vet bills...so beware..$$$

I have a chocolate pied mini long boy. He is very affectionate but they can be stubborn, prone to cocking their legs in the house (the boys that is!) and can be wholly noisy. They are big dogs in a small body and are quite willing to hunt if given the opportunity. But they are very loving and staunch.

The standard doxie slant is 16 to 32 pounds, and the miniature is under 11 pounds and under at 12 months of age and older. They can be tenacious and hard to housebreak but they are sweet and funny. With consistency they can be house broken and trained.
I own three and they can be a pain and a call out but they are fun. The long haired Dachshund are the most easy going.
here are a...
