We have a Maltese whom we are customary to be breeding (with other maltese) in the future. While being watched by a friend of ours while we were out of town, she mated with a neighbor's begeal and is now in a family way. We have found a good homes for up to 3 puppies, but I've read conflicting information over whether a first litter is larger or smaller than normal. All of the information I have is on breeding maltese with maltese, does the father's breed make a difference in the...
A: First off, Maltese females have a very definite time giving birth.
C-sections are very common. Some vets will even suggest scheduling one to ward off potential being threatening complications. I've seen as many as 5 puppies in a maltese litter, as few as 1. A lot depends on the female's genetics.
If her mama had large or small litters.
Get a lot of prenatal care for the pregnant female.

Malteses dont get that big. About.. Perchance a foot long. ^.^ I would rather get a maltese. Yorkies... Are a little too delicate, and they bark way too much.
"Malteses are very attractive, energetic dogs. If your thinking of getting a maltese, BEWARE. You'll have to be well prepared to train, walk alot, and mostly, well, run. It might get pulchritudinous tiring, but the amount of love it gives back to you is reward enough. I'm getting a Matiepoo... They're...
They are a wonderful breed, they can be anywhere from 4-10 pounds. They are loyal, good with kids, and a hypoallergenic breed. I have one that is 15, still aware and kicking. Maltese!
Wonderful dogs. We have had ours for about 3 months now.
Wonderful with children and very kindly with everyone!
My Maltese gets this rush of energy and runs around the house in laps. We all sit there and watch him because he grunts while running. They are a abundant breed. Fun, loving, entertaining en-joyful.
Maltese do not get very big. The general weight should be around 6-7 pounds. Their height should be around 10-18 inches.
I would definitey choose a maltese.
1) Maltese don't abandon and they have hair, not fur, so it is a good choice to get a maltese if you have friends or family members that are allergic to dog fur.
2) They are very lively and playful. My dog loves to butter up with her neighborhood buddies.
3) Maltese can...
