The unique personality of this fearless and feisty terrier has gained popularity in recent years, but they are not for everyone, especially first-time dog owners.
Jack Russell Terriers require A LOT of daily exercise. Because they are working dogs, they are happiest when they have a job, whether it's keeping your yard free of rodents, chasing a ball or going for a long run or hike. Lounging on the couch peacefully all day is a far cry from the epitome of fun for a Jack Russell.
In the absence of abundant play time, these dogs can become moody and destructive. They have a tendency to bore easily and will often create their own entertainment when left alone for long periods. Many of the Jack Russells that are surrendered to shelters wind up there because their owners underestimated these dogs' attention requirements.

They can have other spots, but it's most average for them not to. It just happened that none with spots made it to that part of the judging.

kick the bucket your standard, but I'm fairly certain it's a bit like the great danes. 99.9% of the measure, it's a brindle or a fawn in the ring-but blacks, blues, mantles and harlequins are just as delightful.
