If you are in America, they are not as in favour there as in Britain and Ireland. They are really common here.

Also, the American Springers aren't like the proper British and Irish ones. From what I've seen, they are exceedingly refined for show, which is not good for a breed.

my gran has 1 my sugar-daddy has 4 my other friend has 2 and i am getting one and springer's are very popular were i am because i live in a rural area and that is a perfect place for shooting and springers are gun dogs

I've got two. Approve of with Frankie about Eng. vs. Am. bred dogs. Both mine are "bench bred" in the US. My older female is a real "spoiler", relaxed, warm, bidable. But, My younger boy has a European Champ sire, is much more "birdie", is a different "type" from a conformation guide perspective. My boy is also great fun as well as a bit frustrating as he likes to be "his own man" and hasn't been as easy to train. Wouldn't want any other originate.
