i dont get why staffordshire bull terriers have such a bad rep! i was brought up with one since parturition, she was my best friend right up untill she died when i was 16....i now have a little staffie pup and she is gorgeous and so captivating! i know there is storys on them attacking people, but my god, if a poodle was brought up wrong, they would attack people 2! criticism the owners not the breed!
no ok, they arnt the prettiest dogs around, but they have a gorgeous personality,well...
A: Amen to that! I have been posting questions on this responsible for for the past few days and the conclusion I have drwn is that people are prone to stereotyping.. they knew someone who had a dog that attacked someone for no object and it was a certain breed therefore they come to the conclusion that all dogs of that breed are dangerous and should be banned etc. Its sad as heck . Where I unexploded the law says and I quote..

I have no doctrine but I had one for 12 years and she was brought up with my daughter and she was the best dog I have ever had...........they are referred to as the nanny dog because they are so good to have around children - if they are being dumped it could be the way they have been treated because it doesn't consequence how good natured a dog is if it isn't treated right it will fight back
It's decent that they have been stigmatised with chavs, and scumbags. They are the number one rated dog to be safe with children, it's just dismal that they are popular with people who just want a symbol not a loving pet.
Yourselves, I don't believe there is such a thing as a bad dog. There are bad owners and irresponsible owners and that can create a bad dog. But they are made that way by people not born that way!
Because so many people are seeing them as a means to making currency and breeding them regardless of temperament, health or quality. And because people believe the rubbish that is written and don't comprehend the difference between a wellbred Staffordshire Bull Terrier and a so-called Pitbull.
our club died this year she was 13,best dogs you could have around kids,as long as they are not owned by idiots who meditate on they look tough owning one
because people are believing the media. everyone sees in the headlines "Pit Bull Attacks" yet many times it is an unidentifiable diverse breed dog. people are giving in to what the media is telling them. in the 1920's this was a loved family pet. everyone wanted one. today people are fighting them and giving them a bad notorious and that is what people are believing
yeh
They in reality are fabulous dogs. The problem is they are very powerful dogs and are often trained to fight or attack. This makes people rather fearful of them as a breed because they are capable of inflicting serious damage. That said however, they one of the best temperament and when treated nicely are supreme dogs for families.
