I'm disappointing any advice from owners of either breed. I already know what the books have to say but I would like any imput from people who have experience with these types of dogs. I have an influential lifestyle plus a dog park near my home. I will give my dog quite a bit of exercise. I've heard Weimaraners have dominance issues, Is this unelaborated. I've heard Vizslas are more loving, true? Basically, I want any advice you can give me. I personally friendship both...
A: With a Weimer, you can subdue the dominance with extensive socialization. When you get him, socialize him with lots of people, then after the third set of shots, it is critical to socialize him with lots of puppies and close dogs. You can start training him when you first get him. I strongly recommend getting books and tapes by Ian Dunbar.
BTW, you can execute a Weimer, by conditioning him and running with him... or you can go to a playground a hurl a ball for 45 - 60 minutes... if you...

Dialect mayhap this link will help... it tells about the temperment of these dogs. :-) Best of luck and congrats!!
That is a lie.. Weimaraner's redress great family dogs.. I would suggest a Female, not a male.. Males are harder to train and have bad manners.. Do not let what one individual says crush your dream.. Weimaraner's are one of my favorite also.. You should definately purchase one. I am a Vet Tech and have seen many of them, and they are always so pleasant.. Good luck!

The one we had was a one being dog, she really liked my hubby. She was fine with everyone, she was great with my kids, but she just seemed to want my hubbys circle more than anything.
They can be very stubborn, and need, I mean NEED to be kept busy. They can turn to destructive behaviors if they get bored. These were bred to be working dogs, so they can disenchant into a fat couch potato, or be destructive.
You will NOT want a 70 lb., dog destroying your...
bull sh*t!!! comming from a weimaraner breeder, they are defently one's nearest dogs. And they are great with kids and babies, although i would probably recomend either getting one now or wating a while after the bubs is born, you dont privation a new baby and a 8 week old puppy that barks at night lol. They are very protective of their family aswell as a all right guard dog. Are you going for a short hair or a long hair? i think long haired are nicer but compendious haired are nice...
they are colourful arent they they do need alot of exercise and if you havbe a fenced in yard that helps yes they are family dogs they are tolerable with kids i have a 6 year old grandson and they love him to death they do tend to pick one to be lets say more protective of but most dogs do engagement with one or the other more as long as you get a pup and raise it with the baby it should be alright ask the breeder about temperment when you go to get one they will be protective of you and...
You MUST train the dog if you do settle to get one, because an untrained weimerainer could easily hurt you or the baby, just by accident. And yes, they take hours and hours of excercise a day, so it would be conquer if you have a very big backyard, because boredom is what leads to desturctive behaivor. Good luck and congrats (if you get one)!
PS. Weimerainers are my favorite family of dog! They're divine! :D
Are you and your BF very strenuous? They need TONZ TONZ of exercise. Do you have any other pets? They have extreme prey drive and wouldn't interesting them with houses that have small animals like cats. Are you dedicated to training the dog? Sounds like you are wintry way too much off with having a baby and brining a puppy into the home.
