I hunger for your opinion on different tools to clip my dane's nails.... i have tried some manual, and want suggestions on the thrilling grinders.... plus's/minuses? brands, sites/stores?
She is very large and hard to curb and hates her paws being touched(makes it very hard because she 100+lbs), the clippers seem to hurt because they squeeze and explode the nail
Thanks for all your help!
A: I use the Dremel Minimite cordless grinder. The cordless part is in reality nice because I can grind anywhere, and my dogs do not get tempted to bite on the wire.
I really like grinding because you take the stew over down slowly, and there is little danger of hitting the quick, unlike nail clipping. You can also shape the glue better with a grinder.
On the down side, it will take you longer to get your dog's nails done. You also have to make sure you don't work...

My favorite contraption is my fingers. But I've get a short-haird, no undercoat dog. I just take him outside and rub and rub and scratch and scratch until all his in disorder hair flies in the wind.
I do have a curry brush, but the fingers just work best.
Well having German "Shedders" and a Beagle thankfully I don't have to do a lot of grooming.
However, I do use The Furminator and it works wonderful for removing shedding tresses. I can usually make 2 new dogs from the hair I get off of one!
I mate my curry brush and my slicker brush. Two tools I use EVERY DAY.
shedding brushes - gets undercoat
suffer clippers - not guillotine style, but scissor type because i
have more control and can get closer to
quick w/out bleeding dog
dryers - angry water out of coat fast along with undercoat
clippers w/ dif sized blade covers - many options for dif cuts.
Well I don't like the furminator because of the truly that it dose cut hair and if used on the wrong breed could mess up the coat I've seen the price that this tool can do.My favorite tool to use on double coated dogs is the under coat rake I also like the Cote N Blade slicker brush and comb..
I attachment my dremel tool for my dog's nails. She has black nails and I was always nervous about clipping them myself. But the dremel carve is a great way to keep them short.
My faultless favorite for long coats and double coats is a Matbreaker. It is wonderful for shedding out a dog. Takes some getting worn to , but is so wonderful (already said that). Would not use it on a dog that is going to be shown because it will break the hair.
For short haired dogs, the Zoom Neaten up. Used in a circular motion it will work out the dead and shedding hair. (Great for horses too!)
Whatever instrument you use, be careful, especially if it is...
