i have 8 dogs and of those 8 dogs i have 1 papilon, 1 german shepard pup, 2 expert danes, 1 shiba inu, 1 dachsund, 1 rat terrier, and 1 really cute insignificant mixed breed. Well the 4 small dogs all have crates in the kitchen or dining room to sleep in but our 4 other completely large dogs need a place to sleep on their own. So my mom thought about building a kennel off of our breakfast nook or screened porch but me and my mom are entirely stumped about floorplans. i really need help on...
A: Do you have kennels that board dogs in your locality? You could take a look at a couple for ideas. The kennel my mom uses to board her dogs at has a nice layout. Think of a rectangle shaped structure with a walkway down the center. On both sides of the walkway are the interior areas for the individual runs. Each has an opening for access to the exotic part of the runs. Each run has block walls up to about 3 or 4 feet to keep the dogs from biting at each other. On top of the block walls is...

That would travail, but what about all the other space in the top of the kennel? You could think about making another level to the cage or even setting up an elaborate tunnel system! Its what I did with the extra space in my hem in. They love it so much.
If you plan on doing that, you can line the bottom 4-5 inches tall with a thin piece of plexiglass. Its more stable, less likely to be chewed to pieces, and high enough to keep the pigs from kicking shavings all over the floor....
restraint out this site it may give you an idea www.guineapigcages.com/howto.htm
Well as elongated as the opening arent to big it should be fine. Also dont do anything to fancy. It could be fun then the first week clean up is going to take a while. So just get so tube from the pet hold. There ment to hook up with other plastic cages. And put those together, I think they have bendy ones so you can get some zip ties and tie 'em to the side and top of the enclosure. Just plain and simple is best though. Make sure you have water, and food though.
Yes, you can use that and with some mental acuity, make a cool cage.
Be sure the piggie's feet would not be exposed to any wire flooring. This can give rise to very tragic injuries and sores. Wood and cardboard are not good choices for flooring. You need something more sturdy and water resistant like coroplast or linoleum.
See this site for some ideas:

Yes, that should be big enough for one. I would not use cardboard or wood though to contract with the bottom as it is porous and would start to smell. You can get some correx from a sign writers and use this as a base with sides to stop any bedding from falling out or some lino from a flooring stock that could be placed in the bottom easily with sides and can be wiped down and cleaned easily.
hey the bigger the shut up the better for that pet... as long as you keep him warm but not too warm though, i used to have a guinea pig and kept it in my dogs enclosure... lol
